Janel Martinez is an author and the founder of Ain't I Latina, a site dedicated to celebrating Afro-Latinx womanhood. Her work as a journalist and speaker has challenged and educated many in the Latinx community to examine the racism and colorism engrained in society. In this conversation, she shares her insight on the work non-Black Latinx folk can do toward anti-racism, the special rituals she engages in to find peace, and identifies key Black Latinx thought-leaders we all should know.
